There were two cards in the mail today. One was for me and Sullivan and was from Beanie. He send us a card with a mummy on it. I wonder if he saw this mummy for real. I'd better check out his blog.

The other card was for me and my owner and was from Hammie. Hammie has been to France and this is a sort of historic street-art he tells me. Very beautiful.

Damaged Card

I'm still here! I didn't get lost in the move and today I even got mail! It was in a plastic bag with apologies from the mail people as they damaged my mail.

Inside the plastic bag was a card from Beanie. He found a picture of relatives of mine. Time to get the card out of the plastic bag.

Somehow the card got ripped in half, but it was taped together again and still good enough to show the beauty of these Macaws.

There was a card from Beanie for me in the mail today. It had lovely art stamps on it.

On the front of the card was this beautiful picture of a bird and flowers which is part of a handpainted wallpaper that hangs in a big palace in Beanie's home town.

A Package from Hammie

Long Time No See, but today I just had to post as Sullivan and I got a really nice package from Hammie.

Hammie send us some lovely and tasty souvenirs from his trip to France. There was soap, cookies, lollypops, beautiful cards and more.

As Sullivan got special pig candy I got to have the lollypops. Hmmmm!

Mail from Beanie

Today Sullivan and me got a package from Beanie.

We opened the package and peered inside. What could it contain?

It was full of lovely souvenirs from Lille. We got crayons, a magnet, a bookmark and an apparatus to cut a hedgehog shape in paper. My owner and me really liked the hedgehog apparatus!

The envelope was made out of a newspaper that looked somewhat familiar, but was changed into something quite beautiful.

Merry Christmas!!!
Yesterdayevening Sullivan, our owners and I finally were allowed to open the presents that we got!

Me and Beanies golden present.

Inside there was a lovely bag with flowers on it!

And inside the bag were lots of coins with a little eye, so you can attach them to something, and a real English penny!

Beside that, I got my own blanket! What a great gift!!! Thanx a lot Beanie!

I curled up in my own bag, on my own blanket, looking up at our Christmas tree...

And I wish you all a Ho Ho Ho X-mass!!! Thanx for the lovely card Hammie and G.!!!

A Christmas Present from Beanie

Hello Everybody!

Today there was a package for me in the mail!

Not only was my name on it, it also was featherpost!

It was a card and present from Beanie.

The present is for putting under the Christmas tree and I can not open it until Christmas. I wonder what's in it.

This is the card that Beanie send me. I think it's very beautiful.

Beanie put a Christmas greeting inside the card. I let my owner pin the card on the wall with our other Christmas cards so I can see it everyday.

The present is now under the tree together with the present that Beanie send to Sullivan.

Thank you Beanie! We hope to get you a Christmas present in time for Christmas too!

A package from Hammie

Hi everybody!
Long time no blog, but my owner has been very busy so no time to help me with my blog. But today there was a really cool package from Hammie so I just had to blog about that.

It was for me, Sullivan and our owners as one of us (I think it was Sullivan) had been the 1000th visitor to Hammie's blog.

We opened the package together with Angus and Domo. There was a card with the package that explained which of the things in the package were for each one of us.

This pig called Babs was one of the first things (or should I say: animals) that we saw when opening the package.

Look what I got!

It's a bird that gives light! Isn't that cool?!

Well, hello! What is that?
Hammie also send us a frog and it stuck it's tongue out to me.

We also got Sinterklaas candy: eggshaped Sinterklaas chocolate, ball shaped Zwarte Piet chocolate and multicoloured chocolate covered kruidnoten. Yum!

There were also balloons in the package and I got to play with this flower that Sullivan's owner made out of them.

The red flower didn't stay attached to the green balloon, so I used the green balloon as a swing after that.

Hihi! A piggy-bank-piggy. For Sullivan. It looks so funny.

This is a lovely piece of street-art. I really like it. Why? Well... It is not in screaming colours, it is gone in a few months time (I think), it is simple, but it has quite a strong expression.

Today Sullivan, our owners and I went to a fun place called 'Amazing Oriental Warehouse'. All the stuff you need to make an oriental dish.
Here are some funny things I encountered.

They had these bottles with a bulldog on it. Funny picture. It was some kind of soy-bean sauce. Without dogs, I hope!

This one is really puzzling! It is a plastic mayonaise bottle (as you can see on the board under it) but it has a picture of a baby on it!? What is going on here? Do they make mayonaise out of babies, or do they use the sauce to rub on lil children? Weird...

Spam, spam, SPAM! Wunderful spam!. :D

With lots of pics from their hometown 'Stadskanaal' (Directly translated=> 'Citycanal', it is the canal made by or leading to 'Stad' (the city) and thats the name for Groningen in the 'Ommelanden' (the surrounding province).

Hi all!
Again some more stuff I want to show.

First there is this sticker of a winged-rocket-robot-guy! Very nice. He even has antennae! Looks happy.

And this one I found for you Eve, look! It's Emily! :D

One of the bicycle-pump stickers. It says: 'I ride, you pump'. Funny!

Another arrow. Indicating that one has to go that way... But the thing is, there was no other way! Typical oversigning. We love that in the Netherlands.

Ooh! Ooh! One of my favourites!!! Don't you just love this home-made sticker!? Sprayed and all. So cute... In a weird way... (is that a... oh well!) :D

To finish I show you this slightly creepy peep-hole. It sat in a very old door. With some little door behind the hole. Mysterious...

New stickers, stock-skulls, eyes (yes, again!), a leaf and tarmac

Today I got some blog-time! Here are some pictures I made earlier, but didn't have the time to post.

On this rainpipe I found a lovely skull sticker. Cool huh!? Somebody even cracked his dome! :D

More hidden treasure. Like the title from a Calvin and Hobbes comicbook "There is treasure everywhere". A funny looking animal-thingie-sticker!

Together with Sullivan I found this stock of skulls. This one has very large teeth!

In a small side-alley I found more eyes! So nice... Love them!!!

This leaf I saw when we were walking. It is almost gone, soon it will vanish. Beautiful.

And here is a pic of me testing some crispy fresh tarmac. Not that I like all the new roads people are creating everywhere, but I wanted to show the nice texture. And this was new tarmac on an old road. :)

Hi!!!
It has been quite a while since my owner found time to help me post on my blog. But today he just had to! No way out! (haha!) 'Cause today I got a magnificent piece of 'found-art'! It is so wonderful, we had to post directly. It is sent to me by Beanie Mouse who also has his own blog, called found-art. Beanie and Andrea make art out of objects they find and then they lose it again, so other people can find it! And if you find lost-art, it gets found-art and you can tell Beanie where you found it. Great fun!!!

Look! I got a flip-flop by mail!!! It is great! Here I am enjoying the perfect fit. But of course it's not meant to be worn anymore.

I really love it! It must be fun as well to take it to the sea and surf on it! :D

The flip-flop (in Dutch it's called 'slipper', don't ask me why...) has a beautiful picture of a bird on it. I think it looks like me! Everybody can see that it is mine. :)

It also has a flower on the straps. Most remarkable, cause it was send the way it is. No envelope or wrap! And the flower is still on. The mailmen must have been very surprised.

See? 'MY' flip-flop! Not my owners, it's mine! All mine! (hihi)

Noorderzon

Hi! Few days ago my owner could get away from work for a few hours and we went to 'Noorderzon' (Northern sun) a summer fair with theater, art, food, lights, music, etc.
Here are some pics:

I really was impressed by this giant fluffy heart! A machine made it pound. It was called 'pace-maker'.

All over the terrain (which is a lovely park) there are shipping containers, transformed into shops, bars, theaters and so on. Here I am inside one. I like all the old lamps. The light is soft and warm...

Me on the counter of one of the shops. Again with a lovely lamp.

This container was the setting of an interactive theatershow. It was called 'Spoor' (railway) and was very exiting!

Yes! More lamps, lanterns this time. Gorgeous light in the night between the trees.

And before we went home we bought some candy! I got a 'dropbal' (licorice ball). It is almost as big as me!!! Will have to lick and chew for weeks... :D

Various things I found last couple of weeks

Hi!
In this post I want to show some of the stuff I found in the time before my owner got entranched in loads of work (hereby my apologies to all of the people I follow and that follow me for not posting or commenting - long workdays behind the screen take away the energy to blog - Eric, Coco's owner).

The stuff is quite diverse.
Anyway, here we go!

Here I stand in front of a funny wall. It's entirely made out of glass blocks. I like the colour and shape. Must be nice inside when the sun shines through.

Giant cheeseslicer (cheesegrater?) on the front of a shop. Nice spraypainted art! :D

Strong icon. Some womens movement thing. Not for me, but I like the shape.

'The Crowbar' - a Rock-n-roll pub for motorcycle fans - nice wordjoke! I missed the tools though...

Here someone really didn't want to get any spam or junkmail anymore! On the sticker it says: 'Geen ongeadresseerde handelsreclame' (No unaddresses junkmail). :D

Strange word: 'Frats' - In Dutch it doesn't mean anything. But it sounds funny.

Beautiful weathered texture... Hmmm...

I always admire the will and energy to grow in plants. Nature reclaims the city! A plant growing on the wall.

More green stuff (algae?) covering and slowly digesting the stones and morter of the buidings it clings to.

On the road again!

Today my owner finished another project, nicely before the deadline.
So we could make a trip. And the four of us went walking. Making our favourite tour.
To Garnwerd! Usually there aren't that many Coco-like pics to make, but today I found some nice things to show.

Beautiful blue sky, white fluffy clouds (small!), yellow cornstubbles and... ME! :D

My beak fits nicely into this U on this signpost.

The 'Fietspomp' gang strikes again! On our trips we find these handmade stickers on several places far apart...
This one says 'Prof. Dr. Ing. Fietspomp' (Professor Doctor Engineer Bicyclepump)... Very weird! Can you say bicyclepump? Or should one use something else?

This one I like very much! Small roadsigns that had the same colour as my body! All along the route somebody had posted these signs. A kind of scavengerhunt?

On a part of the route we walked along a path where mostly cars race past. Sometimes that goes wrong...

Another pic of this broken mirror. Through the looking glass... 'Not with your head first dummy!!!' :D

In Garnwerd we were close to an old church. On the churchyard there were lots of tombstones. All too big for me. But this one is quite the size. To sit on, that is! Hope to stay here for a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time!!! I think it is a sign for the firebrigade, where to find the places the hydrants are hidden.

Hi! Today I will show not so much things of the 'objet-trouvé' kind.
I have some nice pics of the walk we made yesterday and some pics for Hammie.

Yesterday we made a lovely walk in the last rays of day. Very nice colours! We found this sign, I really liked it! So warm! They make me stand out very well! Vain? Me?? No way!... (or am I...)

The sign again. It shows a cute dog-pic. Looks like Bibi after shaving! Don't you think Eve? :D

Had to climb it!

On top! Nice view into the sunset... Hmmm...

Next to the sign there was a wooden bridge. I love the patern of wood. Specially when it is withered and green with algae. Great texture.

And here is the pic Sullivan talked about: The 'Killer-cow'! Very scary! Man she was very loud and definitely up to no good! Frightning... We were very lucky that there was a fence. Otherwise she might have eaten us alive! Specially me, for I'm greenish... Brrr!

A bit further there was this lil village... Actually it's just three farms. But at the entrance of one of them there are these weird porchlights. And the sun was shining through. So beautiful...

And these last three pics are for you Hammie! I read that you and your owner are walking the Pieterpad (St.Peter path -> From the village of Pieterburen in the North to the Pietersberg in the south of the Netherlands). A very nice route! It almost comes through our street. This picture shows the path crossing our street. See if you can recognize this place if you pass it!?

If you go out on the route, you shouldn't go this way...

But this way!!! It will be very hard to find these two places. Hint: it's very near to water, close to a bridge and not far from Groningen. See if you succeed! :)

Fishliver oil, arrows (final), two birds, roadsign and a flower

More strange stuff today. There are so many good things to see when you start looking around!

Like this one. A sticker with a kids wobbly thing, the text saying 'Fishliveroil' (for the site www.levertraan.com - a site reviewing all kinds of things).

And the last pic in the arrows section. I found out where they were pointing to! It happened to be a trail leading to a students fraternity. Not for birds like me... But a fun way to make people curious!

This little bird (is it a pigeon?) was one of many. They were all over the place. Bringing peace? Or just having fun. :)

This giant bird I found on a large industrial and business area where my owner had a meeting. In some way I like it... Reminds me of art that was all over the place on buildings made from the sixties onward. It makes an impression anyway.

And than this roadsign. Lovely! Pointing to... uhm... 'c'? Or has c to go that way? Or what?

And last but not least, an angry flower! No idea why it is there or what it is for. But I like it!!!

Today I show you some more funny and strange pics I made.

This one is really great!!! A cool sticker of an old type of tractor! Coloured, painted, spraypainted and all! Great fun.

Another vehicle, a car this time, going down-hill! Well, down the stairs anyway. The word beneath it says 'staircase'.

And I found some more 'eyes'. Just like the ones on the streetlight I showed before. Very funny and weird... These are stuck to an electicity-box (no idea what the regular word for it is in English). The text under it says (no surprise here): 'High voltage - Danger'.

More eyes. On a wall this time. Barely visible. Someone tried to cover it with a new paintjob, but was no expert painter. Markers always come through layers of paint unless you use a special base coating. Looks cool though. A face shimmering through the paint.

Very funny sticker of a Swiss army knive with strange 'tools' sticking out. I see a boot, a hand with flowers, a book and a megaphone...

And here are some more arrows... Where are they leading???

Isn't this sweet? On a bench on the far edge of town, with a great view over the meadows and in the last light of a setting sun... Lovely done... Wonder weither 'Mar' knows that 'Baz' loves her... I hope so!

Yesterday my owner finished one of his work-projects, so today I gently pressed him to relax a bit and spend some quality-time with his favourite bird. Me, that is!
We went for a short tour through the town and took a lot of new pics.
Here are a few of them.

First we found this face. Someone painted it on paper and stuck it to the wall. It really stood out against the blue sky. Briljant work!

I really like this one. The way the woman stands is nicely done I think. I guess it is done by some antifa movement. They use the red and black anarchists flag.

In several places I saw this arrow... What is it for? They are quite new. I'll show you more another day.

Such a nice view. Sun, clouds, and a motorway flyover in contrast!

Here is another one of that tile I posted before! It says: "Drinking halves your life, but you see twice as much" Funny!

A few days ago we (Sullivan, me and our owners) went for a daytrip to the most beautiful isle of the Netherlands, Schiermonnikoog.

Here I enjoy the sun and the lovely view... Isn't it great!?

There wasn't much streetart, but I found this nice piece of driftwood. I love the shape and texture of it.

Hi everybody!
Today I present you with two new pieces of streetart. An unclear sticker and a (spray)painted item, which isn't very clear either...
Here they are:

On a rainpipe I saw this nicely formed sticker. But what does it say??? 'Blobby blub 3' I guess... Any suggestions? And what is it for? Just a tag?...

This funny tile I encountered not far away from the spraypainted toiletroll I posted earlier. It looks like a traditional Dutch 'Delfts blauw' (Blue from the town Delft) tile. But it isn't very readable... Okay, I'll try to read: 'Drinken blur (verwoest?) je leven, maar je ziet smear blur (no clue)'. That means as much as 'Drinking ruins your life but you see ...'. But what is it you see when you drink? Pink elephants? Critters and vermin? I dunno... Weird! :D

Not far from where we live, there is a restaurant/bar called 'De Groene Weide' (The Green Meadow). On the doors next to it someone painted two hares. One is playing a flute and the other plays a drum. This refers to a dutch childrens song about two hares and a hunter. Anyway, here is one hare.

Stern looking bird and that raccoon again

On a bridge we found this stern looking bird... looks kinda scary, almost nazistic.
But it happens to be the code of arms of our city.
Made in a time that it wasn't connected to nazism (pre-ww2).

He! Here is that raccoon again! Now it's blue-black...
Wonder what he stands for.

And the red guy is a piece I've seen quite a lot over the last years. Now-a-days it's not that common anymore... Maybe I can find more of them.

Today I found this guy. A nice orange sticker of a raccoon!

Hmmm... Not very nice. But it was sprayed next to a Mc.Donalds restaurant.
I get the idea!

Look! When I visited a friend, I met this nice fellow!

Spring is in the air! That is what this nice dandelion must have felt when it came up through the cracks in the pavement. Few more days and it will bloom.

Hello everybody! As you already might have noticed, my name is Coco. Coco Calavera. I live in Groningen together with a huge amount of other animals and my owners.

I recently arrived here and Sullivan McPig told me he really enjoyed posting nice adventures on his Blog (The Life and Travels of Sullivan McPig), so I asked him how to start a Blog and here it is! I hope you all enjoy it. I certainly will!!!
